Hair brush for thick/lots of hair?

I have a FULL head of wavy hair and the length usually is around an inch to an inch and a half...is there some sort of brush that will comb and control my hair in the style that i brush it? I wake up in the morning and I use any comb/brush for my hair and it will just go back to its messed up way instantly after a stroke, unaffected. I usually like to slick my hair back, but If i want to do anything with my hair when its dry, I have to soak it with water completely THEN comb it...is there an extreme/specific brush that can help?
