Do you think its possible that a large section of large religions followers are paganistic or eclectic?

I noticed a fair number of more looser followers of religions and some even label themselves with one religion but their beliefs have nothing to do with that religion sometimes so it just ups the religions number even though they dont share the same beliefs on everything. So wouldnt t his greatly reduce the number of people in the leading religions of christianity, judaism and islam?
