Is there a safe type of gag to use when sleeping?

I'm interested in whether there is a type of gag which can be worn while sleeping, without risk of choking or skin damage. This would be to prevent audible shouting during nightmares. I know there's plenty of gags on the market but most of these seem to be for 'adult purposes' and not designed to be slept in.
