How would you combine eclectic and classic?

I find myself draw to the classic look, pencil skirts, white button ups, straight lines and in particularly black, fitted dresses. On the other hand, I also love the eclectic "indie" look, as it makes me feel more myself/not like everybody else. However, don't you think these styles kind of clash? Colourful and sometimes messy mixed with very classic.. How would you mix those two styles?
